chronic psoriasis and vitiligo patients
How it works...
It works by using a carefully focused beam of laser light
that concentrates only on the affected area(s); thus, allowing rapid
clearing and minimizing the exposure of healthy skin.
What a session is like…
The laser hand piece is held over affected area(s) and
exposed to the laser light. This only takes a few minutes, depending
on size of affected area, and requires no anesthesia.
How it feels…
Most patients report no pain or discomfort during the
sessions, some report a warm sensation like that of a mild sunburn
at treatment site.
Number of treatments expected…
Results vary depending on the individual and body surface
affected. Most psoriasis patients see relief with 10 or fewer
sessions. The majority of Vitiligo patients will see re-pigmentation
with 6-12 treatments and full results by 30.
Who should consider…
The XTRAC® Excimer Laser is for those patients with mild to moderate
psoriasis or vitiligo, who are unhappy with their current method of
treatment or who have failed previous treatment options (i.e.
topical treatments, oral medications, injections, and/or traditional
phototherapy).
Insurance coverage…
Coverage varies by individual patient plan, however, if
one of our healthcare providers sees you for a consultation and
determines you to be a good candidate for this treatment, we will
try to obtain authorization through your insurance. *Remember:
although we will begin the authorization process for you, we cannot
guarantee coverage of this treatment by your insurance plan.
