Joy Williams grew up in central Illinois and graduated from Methodist College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked as a medical-surgical registered nurse at a Magnet recognized hospital for many years. Her passion for dermatology began after she had the opportunity to work as a dermatology registered nurse. She attended a graduate program at the University of Illinois, where she obtained her masters of science in nursing. After graduating with a master’s degree in nursing, she started her career in primary care, which included obesity medicine, for two years. She then moved to Washington and completed extensive training in dermatology at Silver Falls Dermatology in Washington.
